The famous Yamaha plank of wood hey, I would take it apart, go and see an upholsterer, and get the innards re stuffed ( is that a word?) then put the cover back over the top

once spent 3 days trying to sort a carby out on my old trailbike after fitting new piston to it.
Turned out to be a wasps nest in the fuel tank breather

I thought that might give you a buzz through the handlebars.............................................
