one more thing most lads forget is to set the float height it needs to be 14mm with the float just touching the float valve but NOT compressing the float valve spring go to factory pro site to see how to do it they have a neet trick to hold the floats in place with the floatbowl

The final bit of "tuning" was one which threw me - the TPS sensor was a smidgin' out and gave all the


thrown me totally :oops: where is the TPS sensor situated in case i need to do this and floats i coudn't get mine to seat back in properly on the o ring it kinds tips a little forward and im a little concearned about it.? any suggestions in getting it back in without damage ( was gonna try a smidge of grease or oil

oh here is another question , the Two black rubber tubes the carbs sit on have splits on around the top, do i need now to replace them as there above the clamped area and just age wear and tear

and here is another ( i have about 30 last night ha ha sorry guys )

i cant get one of the screws out of the float chambers and wondered what you guys have done as the screws are realy soft and what should i not ever do to get them out

okay ill redeem myself with a dafter question were from- too do i measure for the floats and how do i adjust them ????????

and is 14mm the correct setting

i have seen it here on this site before but buggered if i can find it again

There is a manual in the downlaods section shows you how to measure the float height. If you want to check it with th ecarbs off the bike you have to hold the carb up sideways so the float is not compressing the valve.

The float bowl screws are soft, assuming this is what you mean. Put a slot across it with a hacksaw and use a flatblade screwdriver.

If the inlet rubbers are cracked right through they need replacing. this could well be a source of your problems. If they're just surface cracks I wouldn't bother.

TPS sensor is on the side of the carbs. Has an electrical connector to it. Again, look in the manual - it tells you how to adjust the sensor and what the tacho will show you for it.

I had a loose float in one of my carbs. I just put the float bowl back on put the screws in. Next time I took the bowl off the float was seated properly.
