Needless to say I have much cosmetic damage but my biggest problem is the subframe is cracked neaxt to the pillion footpeg/muffler hanger mount. Can the frame be welded in situ or do I need to strip it down & remove the frame to get it sorted?Welding frame...

Welding frame...
Late January some knob left a branch from a plastic x-mas tree on the road. You know, the stuff made from polypropylene & as slippery as .... well slippery things remembered from my youth. Ironically I'm known as a grinch by my mob & living in Adelaide its high summer in January so black ice is uncommon. But let me say crashing on a fake x-mas tree is like crashing on black ice. Needless to say I have much cosmetic damage but my biggest problem is the subframe is cracked neaxt to the pillion footpeg/muffler hanger mount. Can the frame be welded in situ or do I need to strip it down & remove the frame to get it sorted?

You might b happy to know the frame at the rear pillon mount also supports the original exhaust end cans which weighed a couple of hundred kilos...thereby the crack would have been there post crash....and yes, a good clean back to bare metal and someone with a MIG welder will make it right again.
No need to pull it down.
