Damaged fairing

Hi Guys, has anyone had any success repairing damaged front fairings. Not sure if I can use fibreglass or whether if it is some type of plastic that requires a specific adhesive, i.e. epoxy or cyanoacrylate etc, etc?

They're plastic, not fibreglass Clips, so certainly can be welded (found out mine had been when I was putting the R1 front end on). There's a bloke in Tooradin that advertises fairing repairs and painting, but we've no idea where you are so the value of such a recommendation is ...?

Most fairings are thermo setting plastic, you melt them back together.
My brother-in-law has recently repaired a VFR800 fairing and from the outside you can't tell it was ever damaged.
He also repaired a crack in my TRX fairing that I didn't even know was there, and again, I can't see where it was.
He uses a soldering iron, runs it along the crack and it melts back together. For breaks he sometimes chamfers the edges and uses a filler rod to add more material.

Thanks for that. I will get the soldering iron out and give it a go. I am based in Sydney Australia.

I repaired a cracked mudguard by hot stapleing across the crack, then used the soldering iron - a stronger repair.
