3 wires for the neutral light?

when i put the new engine in my bike the N light wasn't working.

it took me a while to find the pulg as i was looking for a single blue one, but found a black plug with 3 wires instead. the blue one was in deed the neutral, but wat are the other 2?

am i right in thinking it's had a gear indicator fitted on it at some point?

more likely the cut-out switch if you start it in gear.

can't be. when the blue wire is unplugged it won't start unless you pull the clutch in.

can't remember the colours, I'll look tonight
