I read somewhere that one should change gasket after the valvecover has been off for three times....correct or not i don´t know but mine is also leaking and i have bought myself a new one for change this spring.jake wrote:yeah i had one that i thought was in good condition, and now its leaking, hence why i have to it again. I think i might put on a bit of silicon.

long as everything is cleaned well, a new gasket should be fine.
I personally wouldnt use any sealing silicone. If that stuff gets into your oil filter... yer.. its not pretty.
If you DO use silicone, make sure you use it very sparingly. dont blob it on.
