only getting 195 kms avg from a tank's worth????

Post by Loud Pipes save Lives » Fri Mar 28, 2008 7:35 am

Hello all,

Dazza here, just wondering what i can do to trouble shoot my fuel issue. ive been told i should be getting around 250-270 kms from a tank. is this right??

im getting only around 190 kms, ggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrr

things that come to mind to fix or replace are ,

- tuning carb (balanced)
- replace emulsion tubes (what should i look for as signs of damage for reason to replacing them)
- replacing all rubber tubes that comes out of the fuel tank.

have i missed anything.?

ps my idle rev range avg. 1200rpm

search for emulsion tubes or fuel economy and your answers will magically appear

^^^^^^ ditto

Really no point in replacing them rubber hoses as it won't have any benefit (unless you can see fuel leaking out).

It also depends a lot on how you ride

195 kms is approx 120 miles

Presume by tankful you mean to reserve which is approx 15 litres

15 litres is 3.3 galloms

120 / 3.3 = 36 mpg

if you ride hard that would be about right

Hi,

Not much help but I get 250k's min and often just over 300k's before reserve. Raceco emulsion tubes, Mig race cans, 42, I think, rear sprocket, 87,000k's.

I live in the French Alps so there is a lot of 1st, 2nd gear work and loads of up and downs. I only weigh 58kg's so maybe that helps!!!

Paul.
