I have an N-reg Yamaha TRX with a rather bizarre carb problem. Basically I stored it over the winter, had it running in the garage once to charge up the battery, and then on the first ride a few months ago, noticed that at 3/4 throttle, if you opened the throttle to full, the bike died completely. However, rolling back the throttle gently allowed the bike to run ok again.
It was fine before the winter, so what could have changed? It sounds like a main jet issue but it was running fine before I put it away.
Anyone got any ideas or had a similar problem?

Re: TRX Carb problem
could be the old fuel , it turns to jelly if left for to long , it may just clear itself if your lucky then again you may have to strip your carbs down and give them a good clean , while your in there have a look at the needle jets there probably oval

Re: TRX Carb problem
Or you're running out of fuel (float bowl level, fuel feed from the tank, fuel tap, fuel pump)? Did you check all the hoses between tap, pump, tank to make sure everything's intact and still connected? Just something else to consider, and it's quick to check.

Re: TRX Carb problem
I had a similar problem: wooly running / no pulling power up the rev range. Took it to the Yam shop and the balanced the carbs and it was sorted.

Re: TRX Carb problem
old fuel in the jets blocked them up? That's what it sounds like to me.
