What oil filter?

Post by phuk72 » Wed Feb 25, 2009 3:53 pm

Just checked my box of bits in preperation for another service (pre spring oil and filters) and the job lot of oil filters I bought is no more

I haven't bought an oil filter for the last 6 years or so and wandered which filters you guys use (my old ones were generic high flow filters bought from a Yam dealership when it closed).

IIRC, there have been problems with non Yamaha filters being too long.

So what do you use? Yamaha filters? Cheapest ones available? Or what?

And where do you get them from?

Used 3 kinds, yamaha & K&N & Hiflo. Can´t really say if one is better than other. Think Hiflo is ok price...bought a batch of three on ebay last time around. Extra nice price...

...I'll second that.

Halfords don't sell may bike filters, but happen to sell the TRX one!!

Model is something like X305 or X208 or similar. Just bought one, so can check tonight for deffo.

Genuine Yam ones are only about £5 though.

Steve, Look upon it as Great Minds Thinking Alike!! :D

BTW Phuk, if £3.50's a bit steep for you, I've just changed my filter and you can have the old one for £1 ? :D
