cast numbers on front wheel

cast numbers on front wheel

hi all can you help with info on the numbers on the front wheel what do they mean

j 17 = mt 3.60 dot

i have the chance of a spare wheel with dics ( j 17 = mt 2.50 dot )
ride loud - ride fast - ride safe

J 17 is a 17" wheel, pretty sure 3.60 dot is the width of the rim so a 2.50 dot would be a no go surely ? I'm willing to be corrected but that's how I see it.

you have 2 hands 2 feet why would you need 4 cylinders have to love the twin

I think that DOT mans Departament of transports (of US) and is a homolagation to sell any vehicle in Unite States. Some American import cars with DOT homologation and without CE must replace the tires to drive in Europe.
