If somebody does not know it is very long "winter" here in Finland,
so have to have something to do...

How about fitting this to the TRX....

First picture.

Does anyone use front sprocket with 18 teeth? I might have to
use 42 or 43 at rear. Triumph is using the 530 chain, can be also
difficult to find a 525 sprocket to fit to the rear..

The rear wheel will be 190...

Why 18t front? I use 17 /42 on the road so you should be OK with that

Were did i see such a swingarm again?

How much wider is the Triumph swingarm in comparison to the TRX's ?

i had to overcome 4.5 cm.

How will the bottom shock linkage be connected to the swingarm? Because on the original there is a tie bar linkage on each side of the shock, but with this one if you put only one linkage on one side of the shock the shock will pull sideways, won't it?

CULater: The Triumph attachment to the frame was about 25mm wider than the TRX.. I took about 10 mm from the left side of the shock and about 25mm from the right side, now the chain line should be OK.
If you had to narrow the swingarm that much, how did you manage to get the wheel centered? Do you have the 530 chain, or have you found a suitable 525 sprocket to the rear..

Kirk: The linkage system will be about the same type as the original TRX. Lenght will be about 200mm, does anyone know where linkages of that lenghts could be found. Somekind of bearing must be developed also

Few new pictures, now it is just waiting for the summer. I have
one vision of fitting the akrapovic or some other can (maybe not the akrapovic) under the seat... But I think that might be something to be done in the next winter.. Also I have an -99 R6 rear fairing, but it won't fit easy...

BTW the rear rim is 6" wide

We modified the Triumph rearsprocket (and placed it behind the clutchhub instead of in front) (don't know if "clutchhub" is the right word) so my 525 chain fits!
original the Triumph has a "190" tyre, but since it was rubbing the chain i fitted a 180!
It now clears the chain about 2 mm. when riding, the chain moves and it slightly touches the tyre so so can see some scuff marks on the tyre.

To be honest, I never really cared for single sided swingarms but I admire how you made it look like it came that way from the factory.

I experimented with a VFR800 swinger, but never got to have a trumpy swinger coz it would have cost me (all the mods i did were basically free, as i know a bike shop very well. I do things for them when they need, and i get good parts at great prices).

Anyway, After i looked at a single sided swinger, i really wanted it.. Only one thing detered me. Weight. Coz the trx is already a heavy beast, i didnt know how it would handle by adding lots of extra weight. Also that chain problem (scuffing tyre) can be over come by a custom bracket so im told.

Im really impressed by your end result. Can you please provide pictures of the suspension setup ? all the dogbone / knuckle and spring ? im curious how it works.

CULater: im lovin that under-seat can action.. Is that a 2002 R1 tail ? and isnt that a TDM frame ?
