Just like the ones I've just ordered and mine weren't that more expensive - brand new. Hopefully have them next week.

Mine came in the post today - they are sooooooooo nice.

Question? These are the ones for the TRX/TDM 850 (016-035) - the ones without the TPS. Wasn't there somewhere on here about the modification if you had a set without TPS. Something about setting the ignition to full advance? Yes I know, use Search, but I'm a lazy sod!

Yeah, that'd be the TPS bypass mod... If you unplug the tps from the carbs it sets it to full advance but your tacho goes crazy, so you need to ground 2 x wires from the CDI... from memory.

Do a search for "TPS mod" should bring it up.

You`ll lose some tractability in the mid range without the TPS but you should gain at least 10 bhp from the fitment of the FCR`s.
I have the TPS on my FCR`s, best of both worlds.

I tried removing the TPS off the std carbs and bolting it on the FCR's but just couldn't get the dammed taco to behave and find the balance point between advanced and retarded so gave up and hotwired the blackbox. Best advice I can give tho is get rid of the airbox as I found it restricted the top end and was so noticable once I utilised the bellmouths how much better it breathed

To disable the Throttle Position Sensor without the rev counter going into diagnostic mode (i.e the needle 'sweeping' the dial) and set the ignition at full advance and increase the rev limit to 10k, this is the modification that I :D figured out a few years ago:

1. Disconnect green, yellow and blue from the right hand section of the CDI and leave unconnected.
2. Connect GPS1 and GPS2 (the top left and top middle connections on right hand section of the CDI) to black battery terminal/earth (these are the yellow wires in the photo)

...but this doesnt bypass the kick-stand ignition cut-off switch as I didnt want that doing.

Fit the TPS, you`ll find it`s better with it fitted, smooths out the mid-range.
Unless a TRX motor is heavily modded 10000 revs is really not required, the motor is out the other side of it`s peak power and torque before 10000 anyway.

OK, Just to be clear, with this mod i can completely unplug and remove the TPS ???????

Also, on my 41's, the flat's on the shaft for the TPS are set at 90 degree's from the standard carb's, which way should the TPS be mounted, preloaded clockwise or anticlockwise ?????

To help other's fitting the cable's, my pull cable has a 10 degree bend at the carb mount to clear the framework.
Cheers,
Alan.

If you do this mod you CAN disconnect the TPS completely without the Tacho going into diagnostic (intermittent sweeping of the needle) mode.

It sets the iginition to full advance.
