Does anyone make an aftermarket seat that doesn't feel like the OEM Yamaha one, which in my opinion might as well have been made from bloody plywood?

I went for a 4 hour ride on the weekend.
I love the bike, but Yamaha really blew it with the seat, its bloody terrible!

Looks like Corbin don't do one, sadly.
Does anyone else?

OVER used to make a seat but that was many moons ago. I took some foam out of my seat and it transformed the bike. Made it into a saddle instead of a plank. Now i sit in the bike instead of on it. Check my photo at the top of the page. Easy enough to do as well.

cover made of sheepskin over the original . . . .or cycling knicks(for the anatomic support) under the jeans/leathers.

Lamby does it for me, and stand up off the seat every 10 mins or so. Don't leave it 'till it hurts, it's too late then.

Im not too bothered with the comfort from the seat itself, but really want to stop slideing around and have to hug the tank with my knees to stay in place...apart from useing velcro on my arse, i use a light wipe with clean engine oil,which gives the seat a vitamin pill and my bum stays planted....

My seat has done over 150,000 kays and still is 85 percent as good as new...same to the pillion seat...!

Used to ride all day on a Ducati 650, with a fibreglass seat/tank set up for British and European Twin raceing here in oz.
The seat only had 10mm of padding...i was just toooo busy

I also fing the TRX seat to be pretty comfy in all honesty but my hardened ass has been battered for years on seats that should have been referred to as rocks!

I have a half hour commute daily which is fine but I took fungs advice on the cycle knicks for anything over a 1 hour ride. Its a cheap solution and works really well.

What method did you use?
I've read about several, including freezing the seat then attacking it with a wood rasp while its hard! (This one actually sounds the best to me so far.)

Hey Greg, dont feel too short mate, I ride a WR450 also and I am sure anyone who can touch the ground easily on one of those things needs to be 7'6" tall

I used a belt sander attached to my bench grinder. Use a fine grit belt as it tends to grab if it's to aggressive. Electric carving knife would also work well ,as suggested. Never heard of the freezing method but can't see why not, worth a shot.
