Motor/Gearbox weight?

Post by Kobo1 » Fri Jun 28, 2013 12:59 pm

I'm just wondering does anyone know the weight of the engine/gearbox unit? Did anyone who's done a motor swap or rebuild ever stick the unit on the bathroom scales? I'm just curious....

Somewhere around 80kg I think someone once told me. Having carted two of my engines around several times lifting and carrying here and there I would say that sounds about right, maybe a tad lighter.
Depends whether it is still full of oil or not too.
It must be true, I read it on the internet.
