Forged wheels.

Post by blindo » Thu Jul 25, 2013 11:46 pm

Hello out there everybody, I could quite possibly be getting carried away here........ but anyway.

Does anyone know of a rear wheel i could substitute for a yzf750 from another, later model bike so i could find a set of forged rims? Im already running a 2005 R1 front end (and yzf750 rear) so the front wheel is a piece of piss to locate, but the rear is an unknown quantity for me. Idont have any milling/machining equipment at my disposal unfortunately. Any info greatly appreicated!

Best bet is to go for a set from an R6 around the same age as they'll likely share the same front rim as the R1. Worry about making the rear fit when you get it - for what you'll pay for 20+year vintage forged wheels you'll probably save money making something more modern fit.
